Who won the "Battle Brunch?"
On Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Holiday Inn in Orangeburg, NY
had the privilege of filming and photographing RBWN's First Ever
Battle Brunch FUNdraiser to benefit the RBWN Scholarship
and their 2012 Charity of Choice, the Pajama Program.
Chef Ula Robertson of At Your Service Catering
vs. Chef Rossano Gianinni of Lanterna Restaurant in Nyack
were "Kung Food Fighting"
as they prepared one brunch dish to be judged
by a special guest panel for taste, appearance and originality.
The Judges were:
Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffe
Chief of Police (S. Nyack/Grandview) Robert Van Cura
Maria Luisa Whittingham, owner of Maria Luisa Boutique and ML Gifts and Accessories in Nyack
and this year’s RBWN Woman of the Year
Small plates were also prepared for the attendees to
vote for the “People’s Favorite."
Hudson Valley Web TV set up a live telecast
from the kitchen to the dining room so guests could watch the
Chef's as they battled each other in the kitchen.
Lee Vazquez interviewed the chefs and
Hudson Valley Web TV
caught all the play-by-play in Kitchen Stadium!
A full brunch buffet was provided including:
Omelette station (with onions, peppers, ham, cheese), Eggs Benedict, waffle station, home fries, bacon, sausage, pancakes, mini-muffins, mini-bagels, fresh fruit
Coffee, tea, juice (orange and cranberry).
We're not saying who won the Battle Brunch...you will have
to watch the "Brunch Battle Video" to find out!

But what we can tell you is that
the food was great, the Chefs were great sports and
everyone had a wonderful time!
